Wow..this was an amazing wedding to end 2009 with..yes that’s right, a New Years Eve Wedding! Paula and Matt were so collected and yet excited to be finally getting married. They were surrounded with friends and loved ones for a perfect wedding that was held at Teatro Restaurant in downtown Calgary. We got most of their pictures done (except the wine cellar ones) before their evening candle lit ceremony. It was so cold -24 (I believe ) without the wind-chill but they all braved the blistering cold to get some nice pictures on Stephen Ave. I highly recommend using Hot Shot hand warmers in that kind of weather as they kept everyone’s hands, ears and our cameras from totally freezing up. The nice thing was there were not a lot of people around to get in the way of pictures, they were all inside! LOL
Thank you guys soooo much for giving us the time to get some stunning images of you two and for having us capture your love and your amazing day. We had a fantastic time. Enjoy your sneak peek….

Best Wedding Photograph win from Canadian Bridal Network
Exciting news! We recently won the Canadian Bridal Network’s Best Wedding Photographs contest of 2009… beating 500+ other entries. What’s really exciting is we were a multiple winner and had one runner up!
Here’s what they had to say…
Besides the obvious artistic and minimum technical requirements (technique, composition, colours, creativity etc) what we ultimately looked for was (a) the simple “wow factor” – would the bride/couple frame a large format version of this photo and display it in their living-room? would it dazzle their quests? (b) the “wedding factor” – is this a great photo or a great wedding photo? Unfortunately this meant that some incredible photographs did not “make the cut”, because they “could have been anywhere”, not necessarily at a wedding… In short, we looked for the type of image that would make you want to do it all over again, even if you were already married !
“one shooter actually had two photos on the list! (did you notice?) Wow.. extra kudos goes to As I See It in Calgary. We were not sure if we should “allow” this, but since during the selection process, the photos had been totally “anonymised” – they just had a serial number – it was only fair to leave them as-selected.”
