We’ve been warned..this is going to be a BIG Italian Wedding! lol I can’t wait, it’s going to be so much fun! We had a great night out with these two even though everywhere we wanted to go to shoot was either gone or fenced off…we still found some cool spots anyways. Sylvia I am glad you spotted the bull before one of us climbed the fence..haha NOW that would have been errr..interesting!

When’s the big day?

How did you meet?
At an outdoor grad party around a campfire! A party that neither of us were the graduates, that was over 7 years ago.

How did he/she propose?
In our kitchen after I (Sylvia) brought Derek home a blizzard!
Apparently that is all I needed to do! Apparently Derek was planning on proposing in Vancouver the next weekend but didn’t want to wait!

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: She is the most caring person I have ever met, I know that I will be well taken care of for the rest of my life. I don’t know what I would do without her!
she says: That Derek really doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks. He wears, does, acts, and speaks however he wants. Sometimes to a fault but I think it is refreshing to have that much confidence in yourself and your decisions.

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Cooking dinner at home together, rent a movie, and play Wii
she says: All the same but I love to top it off with a treat from the Marble Slab creamery!

Kisses, hugs or snuggles?
he says: All 3 at the same time!
she says: snuggles haha.

What’s your favorite thing to do together?
I enjoy doing pretty much everything with her! However we do like to shop and watch Shark Week!

Favorite Starbucks drink?
he says: Not a big Starbucks kinda guy…but she did get me hooked on the Tazo Chai Latte.
she says: Tazo Chai

Your favorite hangout?
The man cave! aka our basement. Which sounds kinda weird when you say that outloud… but it is mostly cause that is where all our gadgets live.

One place in the world you must go see?
he says: Italy with Sylvia’s family
she says: San Lorenzo, Italy

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
he says: Seeing her in her dress walking down the aisle towards me, and having a great evening with TONS of family and friends!
she says: To see family and friends under one roof dancing the night away, becoming an offical Welsh, and of course enjoying fine Italian cuisine!

Laurel has got herself not only a cute guy but a entertaing man who loves her to bits! Time just flew while we were out with these two…I cannot wait for the wedding! We had such a great time just hanging out with you guys.

When’s the big day?

How did you meet?
At work. Gilles was there for a co-op term, Laurel was there for a summer position. We started going for coffee almost every day and found we never ran out of things to talk about. We didn’t start dating until 4 months later when Laurel went back to school. She surprised Gilles by driving down to Calgary unexpectedly for a date.

How did he/she propose?
Gilles and Laurel both enjoy taking the motorcycle out on the weekends for a picnic near the mountains. One weekend, Gilles decided to pop the question on one of these outings… problem was, where could he hide the ring while riding for the picnic? Laurel would always pack the picnic bag… so that location was out of the question, and he couldn’t hide it in any of his pockets because Laurel would definitely feel it while holding on to Gilles on the motorcycle. Eureka! He hid it underneath the seat beside the battery. Once they arrived, Gilles told Laurel to go pick a spot for the picnic and he would disconnect the battery so it didn’t drain while they were out ( ;D ) They had a nice picnic and then strolled along the river. Gilles always has some cheesy one liners, so he went and picked some flowers by the river. He gave them to Laurel and asked “Do you like them?”. She said yes. Gilles then said, “Well I think you’ll like this even more then.” And he pulled out the ring and asked Laurel to marry him. And she said yes even before he had finished asking the question!

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: Her heart. She cares so much about others that I actually have to keep reminding her to think of herself as well.
she says: Gilles’ ability to keep me down to earth.

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Dinner and a movie, also enjoy weekend rides on the motorcycle.
she says: Dinner and a movie or a night out dancing.

he says: Snuggles
she says: Snuggles

Favorite Starbucks drink?
he says: Mocha with no whip
she says: Caramel Macchiato

Your favorite hangout?
The movie theatre

he says: All of France because of their fantastic wines and cheeses. mmmm
she says: France countryside

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
he says: I get to have some bling on my finger too! hehe
she says: Gilles seeing me for the first time in my dress

Oh man..you really couldn’t meet two sweeter people! We were so thrilled when they decided to go with us as their wedding photographers! Yay! When they first came over they sat cuddled on the couch each taking turns chatting..always touching and paying attention to what each other had to say, so thoughtful and caring. You can clearly see the love they have for one another and they were such a joy to photograph….we are looking forward to your wedding!

When’s the big day? October 23, 2010

How did you meet? We met through Erin’s brother (Ryan), who Brennen went to school and lived with.

How did he/she propose? Erin is taking her RN degree through correspondence and was studying for her midterm in stats all day. I thought that she could use a break and we decided to go for a walk. I had the ring in my pocket all day and felt that this was thee day; it was the new year and Erin was starting her new job, it was perfect. We walked to one of our favorite parks close to my place that looks out towards the mountains. I then took her hands and asked the simple question after some ramblings of how she means the world to me. Then after a moment of surprise Erin accepted numerous times and we walked back to my place hand in hand with the ring on her finger.

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: Her variety of laughs and beautiful smile
she says: He can read my mind when it matters the most

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Swooshing down the slopes, powder flying all around us on our snowboards. Then to finish off the day with a cozy fire and a romantic meal.
she says: I agree!

he says: All three please!
she says: Kisses!

What’s your favorite thing to do together?
Going on our favorite ‘dates’ to Safeway and Canadian Tire (when actually he really only needs groceries really badly).

he says: Does Starbucks serve Coca-Cola? If it does then that!
she says: Pumpkin Spice latte at Thanksgiving

he says: Lake Como, Italy

he says: To see my beautiful bride walk down the aisle surrounded by all of our loved ones.
