Carolyn + Paul..the engagement session | Calgary Wedding Photographer

I love love love this session…we had planned on shooting by the vintage car and when I saw what Carolyn was wearing I was even more excited, it was going to look awesome!
We had a beautiful evening, nice soft light, some rain and dramatic clouds! Besides Paul ripping his shirt on barb wire ( which I still feel bad about..but that last shot was worth it!) we had a ton of laughs and it was so much fun just hanging out for awhile. You guys have amazing chemisty and we can’t wait for your wedding! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Here’s what they had to say…(check out their fun fact, it’s pretty cool..some things are just meant to be.)

When’s the big day?
October 10, 2010

How did you meet? Carolyn went up to visit a friend at the U of A and Paul
lived on her floor in residence! That mutual friend is one of our lovely
bridesmaids.

How did he/she propose? I was living in Edmonton and he came up from Calgary
to visit. I knew he was coming to visit but he snuck into my condo (with the
help of my roommate) and was waiting when I got home from work. He proposed
right inside my door amidst twinkly Christmas lights

Favourite thing about each other?
he says: How cool and fun she is to hang out with.
she says: That I can always be myself with him, even at my geekiest.

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Long all Saturday date with hanging out doing whatever in the afternoon, dinner out, and a movie/night out to cap it off.
she says: Going out for a long dinner and then watching a movie. I know – dinner and a movie is so original, but it works :)

Kisses, hugs or snuggles?
he says: Kisses
she says: Snuggles

What’s your favorite thing to do together? Lay in bed and chat.

Favorite Starbucks drink?
he says: Vanilla bean frappuccino (sp?)
she says: Peppermint hot chocolate…haha neither of us drink coffee

Your favorite hangout? Home

One place in the world you must go see?
he says: Germany
she says: Germany

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
he says: Reception in general…just the celebration of our marriage with our favorite people in the world.
she says: Dancing with my husband and all our friends to “Shout”

Fun fact: We were born in the same hospital two days apart and were probably
in the nursery at the same time!

Shauna + Cam..the wedding | Kelowna Harvest Wedding Photographers

We got to photograph a wedding in Kelowna BC which is where both Jeff and I grew up, we were so stoked! You would think holding your wedding in the sunny Okanagan would guarantee good weather but not so much… Personally, Jeff and I love the stormy skies and these two wanted great pictures so they didn’t let a little bit of rain ruin their day! The weather was a little crazy, a mixed bag…we got some super blue skies for about 30 mins after the family pics and the rain held off for the ceremony. Jeff and I were really excited that these two were going to be holding their wedding at The Harvest Golf Club because that is where we had our wedding 14 years ago and It is a beautiful spot! You guys were so great for going where ever in the rain and thanks for having us document your day in a city other than Calgary! We loved it!
Here’s what they had to say…

When was the big day: June 4th, 2010

Where are you getting married: The Harvest Golf Club

Why did you choose this location: It was romantic and just breathtaking!! It seemed a little bit like a fairytale! And…there was the coolest red bridge!

Her best moment: After we were announced Husband and Wife, and we got to the end of the aisle, Cam picked me up twirled me! It made me feel like a princess and so loved!

His best moment: Seeing Shauna in her dress for the first time…So beautiful, I think my jaw dropped!

Fave wedding gift: Having our friends and family come from all over to make our day special…

Best surprise: The weather…we thought that we would have to move inside, but the rain held off until after the ceremony…the best part of this was that our pictures were awesome, but also the richness of color just enhanced the beauty of outdoors, and it was just so perfect!!

How would you describe your day: I don’t think that we could find the words to give our day proper justice, but I guess we would have to say it was like a dream! The colors, the atmosphere, it was all perfect! More than we expected…

Eric + Jennifer…the engagement session | Calgary Wedding Photographers

I don’t think we have ever laughed so much at a session. Eric has the best sense of humour and an infectious laugh! These two are so well matched..they are perfect for each other in my opinion! I cannot get over how high Eric can jump, it’s really quite amazing lol ( I posted one pic below). I love how they answered their questions below, so them! We are so stoked about your mountain wedding!
Enjoy your sneak peek!

When’s the big day?
Saturday October 2, 2010

How did you meet?
We worked together for about four years before that fateful night at the Christmas Party when all of the stars aligned. (and the booze was provided by the company)

How did he/she propose?
Eric proposed in New Zealand, in the middle of a trip around the world. Eric chartered a helicopter in Queenstown, which landed atop of a beautiful mountain range “The Remarkables”. The helicopter pilot lent us some privacy to take in the picturesque views atop the mountain (he was in on the gig). Eric got down on one knee and proposed to an unsuspecting Jen, although he didn’t wait for an official answer before shoving the ring on Jen’s finger (the wrong hand too – which Eric blames on the fact that toilets flush the other way down there, darned Coriolis effect).

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: Jen’s beautiful hazel eyes and her kinda dorky laugh
she says: Eric’s smile and youthful spirit

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Food, drink and fun followed by long cliché filled walks on the beach
she says: Dinner followed by some fun (sport event, live music, comedy, etc)

Kisses, hugs or snuggles?
he says: Snuggles
she says: Snuggles

What’s your favorite thing to do together?
Sports (such as golf, frisbee golf,) and hanging out relaxing

Favorite Starbucks drink?
he says: Coffee is the tool of the damned, but I do like the passionfruit lemonade tea thing
she says: White Chocolate Mocha

Your favorite hangout?
Home

One place in the world you must go see?
he says: Machu Picchu (Peru) and then Iceland
she says: Machu Picchu (Honeymoon – whoot whoot)

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
he says: Kissing Jen as my wife for the first time (though I’m pretty stoked about my last meal of ginger beef as a bachelor too!)
she says: Seeing my groom smile at me as I walk down the aisle

The Ranche in Fish Creek park… a wedding | Calgary Wedding Photographers

Here’s a few teasers from B&R’s wedding that was held at The Ranche in Fish Creek park.

Chris + Andrea…the engagement session | Calgary Wedding Photographers

Super cute couple alert!
Andrea & Chris booked us about 2 years ago and this is the first time we met in person. Between phone calls and facebook I felt like I kinda knew her already but let me tell you..these two are even better together than I thought!
I love the way Chris looks at her and how they make each other laugh. We are looking forward to your wedding in August, it’s going to be a blast!

Here’s what they had to say…

When’s the big day? 08.14.10

How did you meet? Chris and I met while I was still in high school. He lived in a nearby town where my girls and I like to hang out because all the cute guys were there ;-) Chris’s best man actually introduced us (he was dating a friend of mine at the time). We started dating a day after Chris birthday and two days before mine – we always joke that we will never get a better birthday present then we did that year.

How did he/she propose? We went out to our favourite Sushi restaurant for dinner and after went for a drive a back road outside of Fernie. We got to a clearing where Chris told me to get out of the vehicle (I wasn’t sure what he had planned – I thought he might just leave me there lol) But I got out of the vehicle anyways and by the time I got around to his side he was down on one knee (kneeling in the mud as it had rained the night before) He asked me to marry him, and the rest is history.

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: Her eyes.
she says: I love his optimism, and I admire what a hard worker he is. But most of all I love how I know no matter what he will stand beside me.

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Sushi, a manly movie, and snuggles to end the night.
she says: Chris cooking dinner for us, and a movie at home.

Kisses, hugs or snuggles?
he says: Kisses
she says: Kisses

What’s your favorite thing to do together?
We’re both pretty busy so when we have down time together we like to relax and watch movies.

Favorite Starbucks drink?

he says: Extra Coffee Caramel Frappuccino
she says: Non-fat Vanilla Latte

One place in the world you must go see?

he says: Tokyo
she says: I would love to go on a Safari in Africa, or travel around South America.

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
he says: Watching Andrea walk down the aisle. I can’t wait to see her in her dress.
she says: Well I can’t pick just one but I can’t wait to see Chris’s reaction when he sees me for the first time, exchanging our vows, and seeing friends and family that we haven’t seen for a while.
